Fresno State School of Music Auditions

As a potential Music Major, or Minor, we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about the process of auditioning for the School of Music at Fresno State. 

As part of the process to enter our degree programs, all incoming Music Majors and Music Minors must audition for admission to the School of Music at Fresno State. It is very important that you attend one of these two audition days not only to get into the studio and degree program of your choice, but also to have the prime opportunity to secure scholarship funding to support your academic endeavors.

There are two days available for auditions, held this spring:

Saturday, February 8, 2025 9am - 3pm (approximately)

Saturday, March 8, 2025 9am - 3pm (approximately)

During the audition process you will meet with the faculty from your area (woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, voice, piano, composition) and perform a short audition to complete the admission step for entrance to the School of Music and your desired degree program. There will also be a number of forums and presentations available on your audition day. These are designed to give you a broad understanding of the opportunities at Fresno State as well as to provide a way for you to interact with current students, who will share with you their experience in our School of Music. A comprehensive schedule will be released at the end of January and email communication will be steady.

1. Read the information page found on our School of Music website, carefully. You should also initiate your scholarship application process as well to be eligible for all of our scholarship opportunities.

4. Attend your scheduled Audition Day, perform for us, and learn about the School of Music at Fresno State!

Once you are registered on the google form above, and throughout the process, I will be contacting you with updated information, as well as checking to make sure that every potential incoming student has auditioned for the School of Music. We want to make absolutely sure that you are able to join us in the fall and be a part of the vibrant and dynamic student body at Fresno State.
